Deceit, Manipulation, Corruption, Secrecy, Conflict . . .
These are the components of a juicy novel. But what if all of these and worse belong to a real-life tragedy, a real-life thriller, a real-life horror story? And what if this tragedy/thriller/horror story involves our children, those as young as newborn infants? And what if all of this real stuff is happening right here in our own backyard and is being committed by the very ones sworn to protect the children?
Follow me as I take you into a world where the behind-the-scenes antics are stranger than fiction. This is a place where the transgressions inflicted upon the innocent are so appalling that they have literally made strong men weep. This is a place where the small voices of its victims are silenced in preparation for their destruction soon to come. This is a place where a secret society is alive and well and sacrifices its children on a daily basis to personal agendas, a financial bottom line, and apathy. Ladies and gentlemen, WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF FOSTER CARE... Held My Attention: I read Small Voices Silenced: The Secret Society of Sacrificed Children in two days and in between bouts of my busy schedule. The book held my attention with each page as I remembered that author Sherrie Clark had lived the story, sharing her heart with readers. This book is a must-read for every parent as well as an eye opener as it depicts the reality of how our foster children fall through the cracks of justice. Finally, the Voice of the Child Is Heard. This book really brings the truth out from behind closed doors in regards to the foster-care system. I found it described very well the experiences a foster family can expect. Heartbreaking, move you to tears, sometimes shocking ... it's a must read for all those who have a heart for children and the care given them when their lives are turned upside down through no fault of their own. This book tells the truth in detail. Will surprise and stir your heart. Our children's voice is heard, finally. We owe it to them to hear it, and in this book you will. |
Very Well-Written! This book gives a unique perspective into the foster-care system of the United States. It is a moving account of a couple's experience of fostering. The book raises many issues on behalf of children who find themselves in foster care--issues that should be addressed! It is very well-written, graphic. Get ready to go on a journey to "a world" many of us are not aware even exists. Suspenseful: The story reads like a suspense novel, but it depicts events that are all too real! I thought I'd seen just about everything in memoir; I was surprised to find myself moved to tears. I'll never forget these two little girls.
Emotional Punch: Clark's book contains all of the components of a juicy novel--deceit, manipulation, corruption, secrecy, conflict--but it is a true story. Her prose offers the same emotional punch of fiction, but the knowledge that it's a real story and not something made up will draw readers all the more emotionally toward it. --PR Web Awesome! Small Voices Silenced, the title says it all. In sharing her personal trials and tribulation, the author opens out eyes to events that could happen to anyone of us. I was encouraged at how her family dug out together while almost being buried in the trenches. I am so grateful that she had the courage to share, and I know it is her prayer that she will be able to encourage other families not to give up but be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Beautiful: I was able to read your beautiful, as well as infuriating story. Good book--touching and heartwarming story. |
